Gifted items.
One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make at least a little difference. At least I can try, no? I try use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of ethical and green issues. I find, that the best way is to do this by introducing other sustainable options, that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.
With that in mind, the idea to create a this monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The monthly round up articles are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands which produce and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals. I hope you’ll find some new things to like.

What I thought about it
Well, not me, my daughter. She tested them and absolutely loved the colours! I don’t think they will last long as she keeps changing them every weekend (obviously, she needs to wash them off for the school week), I just hope there will be enough left for the summer holidays, otherwise I will need to buy her another set.
smol Cleaning Products
The now well known and award-winning brand smol has been around for a years and I have been using a few of their products on and off. smol’s products use less chemicals, less plastic and lower carbon, without compromising on performance or price. The refillable products are ordered online and delivered direct to the door in packaging that’s fully recyclable or home-compostable. Most recently, the brand launched 100% recycled aluminium bottles-for-life, designed to look great on countertops!
The smol range includes:
- Washing-up liquid
- Dishwasher tablets
- Laundry capsules and laundry liquid
- Animal fat-free fabric conditioner
- Refillable multi-surface spray
- Bleach-free stain gel
- Floor cleaner
- Foaming handwash
You can also pick up their smol starter set, which features their Laundry capsules, Dishwasher tablets, multipurpose spray and foaming hand wash. This cost only £5 and it’s a great way to try their hero products.
What I thought about the products
I tried them all that’s pictured and I was happy with the performance. Some people think that eco cleaning cannot be as effective as the regular, supermarket products, but it is. All work as intended.
- the hand wash foams really nicely and densely, lathering up well
- the fabric conditioner smells nice, not too overwhelming and no overly artificial
- I did try the dishwasher tablets before and they still the same quality
- the aluminium bottles look fab!

My vegetarian readers will absolutely love this. Just look at how inviting the toasted sourdough with cream cheese drizzled with Hilltop Tracklements Fresh Chilli Jam Hot Honey – and some black grapes and apple slices on the side. My husband said, that it was a real treat for a lunch!
Lee Stafford Heat Protection Shine Mist
Lee Stafford London haircare which is celebrating 25 years of delivering salon quality products available in stores – vegan product, with antioxidant-rich Green Tea known to help protect hair from environmental factors, like damaging free radicals and UV rays, as well as everyday heat styling, while Pro-Vitamin B5 helps improve softness and shine.
What I thought about it
I’ve not used a heat protection before but it definitely feels nice knowing the vitamins help to protect whilst heat styling. It’s a little bit strong to smell but I always try to avoid breathing in any sort of products like this and hold my breath while applying.
PlayIN Choc for ADULTS 🙂
Many times I have bought the popular little puzzle boxes for my children, included them in Christmas round-ups and guides, and even sold them in my zero-waste shop a few years ago. But this time, I am tasting and rating the dark choc “justchoc” bars, for grown ups.
The 100g dark chocolate bars are organic, vegan, and completely allergen-free — proof that inclusive chocolate can still be seriously delicious. Smooth, rich, and generously sized, they make a thoughtful treat, whether gifted on their own or paired with something special.
What I thought about it
It’s delicious! Really smooth, not as full dark as I expected, less crunchy and dark, more creamy. Very very nice!

I quite like the idea of theTolpa facial toner, I get the impression it will be kinder to your skin and is just what I need right now. I’m looking for a new toner brand to stock up on and would rather something that is kind to my skin and the environment. Sim x
