As you know, I love bringing small, sustainable and ethical businesses to your attention, when I think they deserve the spotlight. This time, I’d like to introduce you to Coastal Villa Homeware.
About Coastal Villa Homeware
Founders Sania and Patrick breathe design and sustainability – so they created Coastal Villa Homeware after beginning to design trays made out of marble and rattan from Indonesia (where Sania is from) and they expanded their product portfolio from there. Today, they have a wide range of products using natural materials like marble, rattan, linen – to mention a few. Their aim is to create beautiful, natural homeware items, not compromising on quality and without plastic.
- Coastal Villa Homeware sources natural and biodegradable materials sustainably and responsibly
- They are very low waste and package plastic free whenever possible (when they do, it’s reused plastic
Coastal Villa Homeware is not only a sustainable but also an ethical business: they pay fair wages and fair prices for their workers and suppliers through
- Supporting their local communities in Bali where Coastal Villa Homeware is based
- Employing local craftsmen
- Ensuring that the supply chain is free of any instances of forced or child labor
- Protecting and conserving traditional skills
Review
I chose the following items:
- round placemats in honey brown (handcrafted rattan and heat-proof)
- matching napkin rings (handcrafted with sustainably sourced, high-quality rattan)
- linen napkins in amber (machine washable at 40C and air dry avoiding direct sun)
They are all beautiful, look perfectly and of superb quality. The placemats came in a matching tray which is very handy too. The colours are beautiful and strong too. The linen is soft and luxurious feel. Really wonderful items. They match just perfectly with the current natural and Scandi trend and in my case they fir wonderfully into the mid-century modern feel, which does like the natural elements as wood, bamboo and rattan.
