About Josh Wood
Josh Wood started his career as a hair colourist and became the absolute best in his profession, working with celebrities and opening his own very popular salon in Holland Park, London. A few years ago he created the Josh Wood Colour range, designed for home hair colouring, perfected with Josh’s expertise this innovative, easy to use permanent colours, root touch ups and a shade-specific care range quickly became the best on the market. I did have the chance to try these fantastic permanent colours then – read about it in this post. Later, he developed the Shade Shot, which allows you to personalise your permanent colour with an array of natural, multi-dimensional tones that are unique to your hair. And the latest product line goes beyond colouring: they are caring for you hair and restoring its beauty with the new shampoos, conditioners and Miracle System.
Kind to your hair, the planet and the animals
Not only good for your hair but good for the planet and no animals harmed: that’s the motto of Josh Wood Colour.
Every ingredient is certified cruelty-free and they are also en route to be vegan approved for most of their product range. In Josh Wood products, there are no sulphates, parabens, ammonia and phthalates so it’s good for your hair and skin, as well as not being harmful for the environment. Their goal is to make their products in a full closed loop – this is what they are also working on at the moment. Their shipping boxes are made out of FSC certified paper, include recycled content and are 100% recyclable. Atelier, Josh Wood’s salon is also part of this and partnered with Handle Recycling. They collect all the plastic, cardboard, hair, aluminium and foils recycling waste from the salon, intercepting the waste before it goes to landfill or gets incinerated for waste to energy. They also partnered with First Mile for zero-to-landfill general waste collection.

I received a Care Bundle: Miracle Care for Fine, Fragile Hair Set – and I only used it twice so far, but I’m very happy with my hair looking more hydrated (I have naturally frizzy and wavy hair so I normally blow-dry it, which makes it dry at the ends and frizzy on the top of my head – which I hate! I also had highlights about a year ago and it really damaged my hair (never again!) which still hasn’t grown out yet, so at some parts it’s still visibly damaged. The Miracle Mask makes it look shinier and smoother – I’ve never used hair masks before, but I will stick to this one for sure! The pack costs £44 (instead of individually buying them for £49) but they all go a long way and sine I only really go to hairdressers once or twice a year, it’s a good investment into great looking and healthy hair. I’d rather spend it on these fab products than anything else to be honest, because after the mask treatment my hair looks like it had a salon blow dry!
I have also received a Root Smudge (Brown), I specifically asked to try this product as have been using a L’oreal root spray which I really didn’t like for not being cruelty -free. It’s important to me that my beauty and skincare products are kind on my skin, on the environment and definitely no animals are being tortured for testing them. So, I was excited to try this. It is a root smudge, however, I’m well due for a colour, so I used it on at least two-inch long patch (I have a concentrated grey patch on my front hairline) and it worked brilliantly! The good thing about the root smudge, that it saves at least one hair colouring, so I only have to colour every other months or month and a half and skip one in between with root smudge. This saves money and also waste! Win-win!

I have very curly hair which i love although it can be a nightmare at times.
I have quite thick hair, but years of colouring it has damaged the ends
