As you know, I love bringing small, sustainable and ethical businesses to your attention, when I think they deserve the spotlight. This time, I’d like to introduce you to Richard Haworth.
We also have a giveaway for you – scroll down.
As a former hotelier, I have a thing for hotel towels and linen – I think I’ve said this before. Undoubtedly, they are the best of the best in quality. And when I need to spend money on bedroom and bathroom linen – I want them to last and I want them to be luxurious and pampering for my guests. Also for myself. It’s an everyday luxury that we all deserve. By investing in decent and quality products we don’t just save money on the long run and feel good about having nice things, but we actually do our bit for the environment, because good quality products don’t need to be replaced often. Stating the obvious here? It’s always worth pointing out.
About Richard Haworth
His company dating back to 1876 (!!!) Richard Haworth has been manufacturing a diverse product range for restaurants, hotels, event organisers, cruise ships and even airlines (that’s pretty cool). He worked himself all the way up from poverty to become one of the biggest Victorian entrepreneurs. Today, only that the production is modernised, they still serve the same clientele and amongst them, we can find the biggest brands, like Marriott.
Ethical production
Richard Haworth is a member of the Ethical Trade Initiative. (Worldwide alliance of trade unions, NGOs, and companies that are working together to advance human rights in global supply chains.) Richard Haworth promotes these values to all the partners and prospective mills. The company is also a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (the world’s leading sustainability initiative for cotton).
Review
I recognise the luxury hotel quality when I see it! This is definitely it. Beautiful, fluffy white towels with the classic trims – can’t fault them. I’d be very proudly saving them as guest towels to treat my visitors to this little luxury.
Madison towels are a 100% ring spun cotton featuring a honeycomb weave header. The 600gsm weight makes it a very good drying towel yet stays soft and absorbent wash after wash.
